LAS VEGAS, Feb. 19, 2013—Lithia resident Bill Zapf of WAITING GAME Publications was recognized today as a Certified Franchise Executive by the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives. Zapf completed a comprehensive course of study in franchise management offered by the Institute, which is the academic branch of the International Franchise Association’s Educational Foundation. The International Franchise Association is the world’s oldest and largest organization representing franchising worldwide and will host the presentation during its annual convention in Las Vegas, Feb. 17-20.Read more... |

November 3, 2012Ex-Clipper Overcomes On-Ice Injury to Succeed in BusinessBill Zapf played just two games with the Nanaimo Clippers 20 years ago, but in that short time his life changed forever. On Nov. 2, 1992, the Edmonton born and raised defenceman was injuried in his second game with Nanaimo in Merritt against the Centinnals and was left a paraplegic and in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Despite his dreams on the ice and off of it coming to an end, he did not dwell on it, he did not throw himself a pity party. He moved forward. He completed his physiotherapy and eventually moved to Florida where he went into real estate and, then upon the collapse of the market, he started up a publication company called Waiting Game Publications.
